ABOUT COACH CHRIS
The Coach Who’s Been Where You Are
I know what it’s like to grind through endless swim sets, hoping for a breakthrough. I also know what it’s like to train smarter, unlock speed, and finally see results.
I’ve spent the last 20+ years coaching swimmers at every level—from age-group athletes to high-performance competitors. My mission? To help swimmers break through plateaus, master technique, and train like the best.
📍 Credentials & Experience:
✅ Senior Group Coach – Brentwood Seawolves (ages 12-18)
✅ Selected as Zone 2 All-Star Coach & WZAG All-Star Coach (2024)
✅ Former Co-Head Coach – ClubSport of San Ramon Marlins (Summer League, ages 4-18)
✅ Over 20 years of coaching experience across all levels
✅ Head Coach – Pacific Swimming Distance Training Camp at the Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs
But my journey didn’t start as a coach. I was a high school swimmer balancing doubles, competitive rowing, school, and working 25 hours a week as a lifeguard. Later, I would go on to swim for the Dalhousie Tigers and reached National and International levels. I learned firsthand how to find balance, avoid burnout, and maximize every hour in the water. These experiences and frameworks helped me to develop two journals, the Elevated Workout Journal for Coaches and The Between Laps Swimmers Journal to guide athletes and coaches to greater success in our sport.
That’s the foundation of Between Laps. It’s not just about working harder—it’s about training smarter, building resilience, and breaking through your limits.
